UnitedHealthcare and Oxford have released the following updates for January 2026.

Quarterly Rate Change

• Oxford Downstate: average rate increase of 11.8%
• UnitedHealthcare Upstate/Mid-Hudson: average rate increase of 6.8%

Plan/Portfolio Updates

• Oxford Downstate: all fully insured small group plans will have an embedded EAP beginning on January 1, 2026, for new business; and at the 2026 renewal for existing business. The gatekeeper component for Oxford Metro has been removed and plans will transition to open access equivalents. UnitedHealthcare vision continues to be embedded in all small group plans.
• UnitedHealthcare Upstate & Mid Hudson: added twelve new plan designs, including Smart HSA and HRA plans. A UHC-administered HRA is available, supported by UHC Benefit Services. 

Plan/Network Updates

No updates. Note that the UHC Select/Select Plus plans mirror the UnitedHealthcare Choice/Choice Plus plans in terms of network. The difference is that these plans have PCP-guided experiences.

Value Adds and Rewards

• Care Cash is embedded in all non-HSA and non-HRA plans. Individual amount is $200 and family amount is $500.
• UHC Rewards remains in effect for employees and spouses
• Sweat Equity provides cash reimbursement for completing 50 workouts within a 6-month period
