UnitedHealthcare has announced updates for small group (fully insured and level funded) plans for Q1 of 2026 in Connecticut. Quoting will be available soon!

Plan/Portfolio Updates:

  • Fully insured plan deductibles and maximum out-of-pocket limits have been adjusted in line with the new 2026 limits.
  • Fully insured plans are adding child and family behavioral coaching.
  • Fully insured Oxford plans will now have an embedded EAP.
  • Fully insured and level funded plans are adding expanded breast imaging and colonoscopy benefits. Coverage for OTC hearing aids will be removed.
  • Medicare Estimation ended on 10/01/2025 for fully insured and level funded plans. Coordination of benefits will still apply as appropriate. UnitedHealthcare recommends those eligible for Medicare research their options about Medicare Parts A and B, and potential penalties for late enrollment.
  • Level funded plans using the Standard Select Rx network will be migrated to the Broad Rx network.
  • Level funded plans will continue to offer reporting, document, and HR support through Mineral.
  • Real Appeal, One Pass Select, and the Vital Medication Program will be included in all plans. Fully insured and UHC level funded plans will also have UHC Rewards included.
  • There will be 10 Choice EPO plans and 10 Choice Plus PPO plans available through Surest level funded. Remember that Surest plans have no deductible or coinsurance, and can be dual-optioned with UHC level funded! Note that UHC Rewards is not available on Surest plans.
  • A new level funded dental & vision plan offering will be available to pair with level funded medical plans.

Important: Groups with Oxford level funded plans will be allowed to keep their existing plan at the 2026 renewal. However, if they want to add or change a plan, they must move to UHC and/or Surest level funded.

  • Don't forget that Specialty Savings Promotions remain in effect through January 1, 2026, effective dates!
  • UnitedHealthcare is also offering a 9.9% first year renewal rate cap for current fully insured groups that migrate to UnitedHealthcare level funded from a proactive conversion offer. Groups must meet the following criteria:
