Aetna's 2025 proposed rate changes have been submitted for groups with 100 or fewer full-time equivalent employees
Aetna Life Insurance Company and Aetna Health Insurance Company of New York have submitted a rate change request to the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) for Small Group plans that renew or are effective January 1, 2025 or later.
While the exact rates requested will vary by plan and region, they have requested rate increases ranging from:
- ALIC SG: 9.9% to 18.1%
- AHIC SG: 4.6% to 24.4%
- ALIC IVL Conv: 7.4% to 41.2%
Aetna is currently notifying subscribers and plan sponsors of the proposed rate changes. See samples of the communications below:

Once DFS approves the final premium rates, Aetna will provide final rate information to existing subscribers and plan sponsors 60 days prior to their 2025 renewal date.
