Anthem Blue Cross made benefit changes to certain Bronze plans to comply with state requirements. Briefly, the impacted Bronze plans are:
- Bronze PPO 70/6300/35%
- Bronze PPO 60/6350/40%
- Bronze PPO 40/5600/40%
- Anthem's exchange plan, Bronze EPO A, is also impacted
Anthem has clarified previous communications to say that benefit changes regarding impacted Bronze plans only affect plans sold or renewed effective May 1, 2020 and after. Anthem will not implement mid-year benefit changes for groups sold or renewed from January 2020 to April 2020 (or any group sold or renewed in 2019). As a result, it’s no longer necessary for Anthem to offer a special open enrollment for these groups.
Anthem will be sending out communications to members and groups to clarify the previous message.
