Anthem Blue Cross and UC Health have agreed in principle to a new contract providing Anthem members access to affordable care at UC Health’s doctors and hospitals for years to come.
The organizations have also agreed to extend their current contract to April 1, 2024, allowing time to finalize the new contract and offer Anthem members uninterrupted in-network care at UC Health. This underscores a mutual commitment to providing Anthem’s consumers and employers with access to high quality, affordable care at UC Health.
On February 14, 2024, Anthem sent a follow-up letter to the members assigned to the UC Health HMO Medical Groups. The letter advises that Anthem and UC Health have agreed to extend the current contract to April 1st to offer them uninterrupted in-network care at UC Health while both parties finalize the renewal contract. Anthem emphasizes that their enrollment with their current primary care physician will not change at this time. Anthem also provides instructions to contact Anthem if they have enrolled with a new medical group after receiving the initial letter and wish to re-enroll with UC Health or another medical group.
