On June 20, 2024, Change Healthcare informed Anthem that it would begin contacting clients and partners affected by their cybersecurity event. They will begin sending their notifications in July.
While Change Healthcare is unable to provide a comprehensive accounting of affected data, Anthem’s ASO clients may be impacted, so they will be among those receiving Change Healthcare’s communications.
Clients have the right to opt out of receiving this communication from Change Healthcare, and Anthem wants you to know they are currently informing all of their ASO clients of this right. Anthem is cautioning clients against opting out of Change Healthcare’s notice as it will create duplicative and potentially confusing notices to individuals and is likely to result in a substantial delay in individuals being notified.
Should a client decide to opt out, they must contact Anthem at PrivacyAccountNotification@anthem.com and indicate their decision to opt out no later than July 8, 2024. Change Healthcare has provided details regarding the nature and circumstance of this incident here.
