As of December 31, 2023, Beam is making changes to their Value-Added Services benefits for life and disability products. These changes will not impact the group disability or life coverage through Beam; these are extra services. Beam will notify Group Administrators of current in-force policies via email.
Here's what that means for your clients:
Disability
As of December 31, 2023, Beam Benefits will no longer offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), travel assistance and ID theft services as a Value-Added Service on Beam short-term and long-term disability plans.
These changes do not apply to Beam's new Hartford disability products.
Life
As of December 31, 2023, Beam Benefits will no longer offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as a Value-Added Service on Beam Life benefits plans.
Beginning January 1, 2024, Beam Life members can take advantage of two new Value-Added Services at no additional cost:
- Access to best-in-class estate planning and a digital vault through Beam's partnership with GoodTrust.
- Access to travel assistance and identity theft support services through Beam's partnership with International Medical Group (IMG).
