Blue Shield is pleased to announce that Providence Health & Services (“Providence”) has rescinded its termination, and a new contract agreement has been tentatively reached with Blue Shield of California. This new agreement would ensure Blue Shield members across lines of business have continued in-network access to their Providence doctors, clinics, and hospitals.
Members who recently received contract termination letters regarding Providence Health and Services will receive “good news” communications this week with information on the successful negotiation. Members can keep their Primary Care Providers (PCPs) with no action required. Additionally, some Medicare members who were already issued a new ID card with an assigned PCP will have their ID cards reissued, noting their original PCP.
