Blue Shield Encourages Members to Utilize Their Essential Health Benefits

Blue Shield understands the importance of preventive health and is currently conducting an outreach campaign encouraging members to utilize their essential health benefits, including scheduling an annual health assessment. Blue Shield has contracted with providers – Altais, Complex Care Solutions, and Care Connectors Medical Group - for outreach efforts to schedule appointments, in-home visits or virtual visits, with no out-of-pocket cost to the member. 

You may receive inquiries from your clients who receive calls, emails, or letters that are a part of this campaign. One component of this campaign includes gift card incentives to promote members’ engagement with their health care benefits. Recognizing the prevalence of phishing and scams that seek personal information, Blue Shield is providing awareness of this campaign should a client contact you with questions. 

Here is a sample communication from this campaign, for your reference. Please do not redistribute this communication. While all members may benefit from an annual health assessment, only those specifically identified by Blue Shield’s Health Solutions team are eligible for the promotional incentives of this campaign. For privacy reasons, Blue Shield is not able to provide you a list of members included in the campaign. 

All Blue Shield members are encouraged to utilize their preventive care health benefits, whether in response to this campaign or through their usual provider. Preventive care information for members is available here.  Together, everyone can help members detect early warning signs of more serious, costly health problems.
