Blue Shield is pleased to announce that Blue Shield of California and Hoag have reached a new agreement. Hoag Clinic and facilities will continue to accept Blue Shield Commercial HMO, PPO, and Medicare Advantage members as in-network. Effective January 1, 2026, Hoag Clinic (physician group) will be terminated for Medicare Advantage members; however, Hoag hospitals will continue to remain in-network.
Commercial HMO members who recently received letters regarding Hoag will receive good news” communications with information on the successful negotiation this week. Members will have their same Primary Care Providers (PCPs) with Hoag; no action is required.
As a nonprofit health plan, Blue Shield is committed to holding network providers accountable to help ensure that all Californians have access to high-quality health care at an affordable price. Blue Shield stands by this commitment when negotiating reimbursement rates with administrators.
