ConnectiCare Plans for End of the Public Health Emergency (PHE)

With the Public Health Emergency ended on May 11, 2023, ConnectiCare want to make sure you have the most up-to-date coverage information to support your clients.

Coverage for testing, treatment, vaccinations, and certain other services related to COVID-19 will return to pre-pandemic plan benefit status. This means your clients and members may now incur out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19-related care.

Please reference the grid below for answers to COVID-19 coverage questions:

BENEFIT DURING THE EMERGENCY PERIOD AFTER THE EMERGENCY PERIOD
COVID-19 Testing
  • All COVID-19 tests covered, cost-share waived for in- and out-of-network coverage
  • Out-of-network services covered at provider rate
  • No referrals or prior authorization required
  •  PCR tests covered if medically necessary and ordered by an authorized provider
  • Cost-share applies (based on plan benefits design)
  • Out-of-network services covered only if plan has out-of-network benefits
  • At-home tests not covered (members may use FSA/HSA accounts to cover these costs)
COVID-19 Treatments All treatments covered, cost-share waived Standard cost-share applies
COVID-19 Testing Related Services All treatments covered, cost-share waived Standard cost-share applies
COVID-19 Vaccines Cost-share waived for in- and out-of-network services
  • Covered as a preventive service
  • No cost-share for in-network services
  • Out-of-network services only covered if plan has out-of-network benefits; standard out-of-network cost-share applies
