Florida Blue is providing payment flexibility due to Hurricane Ian impacts, helping members maintain access to care.
Where: All Florida counties.
Eligible Plan Types: Small Group, Truli for Health, IIU65, NLGP, GuideWell Simplifi, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement, ASO, MPP
Grace period for premium payments extended through November 28, 2022
- Although customers may have already received a notification that their premium payment is due, the deadline to pay has been extended through November 28, 2022.
- This extension applies even if their invoice shows an earlier due date. They shouldn’t worry if they get a notice from Florida Blue that indicates that their payment is late, as long as their account is paid and current by November 28, 2022.
- Customer Outreach: Florida Blue is letting members know about the extension via floridablue.com, social media and other tactics. They are also working with customers on a case-by-case basis for unusual situations they may encounter.
Freeze on cancellations and non-renewals through November 28, 2022
- Policies canceled for non-payment on or after September 18, 2022, through September 27, 2022, are being automatically reinstated.
- Between September 28, 2022, and November 28, 2022, no member or group will be canceled or not renewed for non-payment of their premium.
- All notices of cancellation issued within ten (10) calendar days preceding September 28, 2022, will be withdrawn and reissued on or after November 28, 2022.
- Members and Groups in delinquency will have through November 28, 2022, to make their account current or they will be canceled back to their original paid through date
