Nearly every Consumer-Directed Health Plan (CDHP) leverage new flexibility under the CARES Act to expand telehealth coverage without a patient having to touch their deductible.
The study by Americas Health Insurance plans finds that the most common types of telehealth services were covered pre-deductible including claims for routine care, such as regular evaluation and management visits, psychotherapy, speech and language therapy, and medical nutrition therapy.
Behavioral health care was the most frequent category of telehealth care in 2020.
