Principal tapped a panel of small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and industry research to reveal how COVID-19 is affecting these employers. The report also includes key resources to serve clients. SMBs list the following as their key pain points:
- Managing cash flow and relieve funds
- Taking care of employees – from workplace safety to financial protection
- Navigating uncertainty and preparing for the new normal
SMBs value industry-relevant support that’s tailored to them. Principal recommends that advisors share relevant resources with their clients and personalize the message with their name, industry, or location information when possible. Be action-oriented and fact-based. Admit when something is unknown.
