Sharp Health Plan has released their Q1 2020 update. All plans will have updates on benefits though only a few plan names will change. When enrolling your 2020 groups, please make sure to use the correct summary to avoid confusion.
Rates will decrease an average of -0.5% compared to Q4 2019.
Terminated Plans
Sharp will discontinue three HMO plans from their portfolio effective January 1, 2020, due to low membership. Existing members will be transitioned to an alternate plan at their 2020 renewal. Those plans are as follows:
• Platinum NG 5
• Platinum NG 6
• Platinum NG 9
New ACH Form/Initial Payment
Beginning immediately, employers can submit the initial premium via a one-time debit from their bank account. To use this new payment method, they should submit the ACH Initial Payment form with their new business paperwork.
Material Updates
Benefit summaries and applications are available for 2020. PPO materials have not been released at this time. We’ll keep you informed of updates.
