State Bill 729: Infertility and Fertility Services
In accordance with Senate Bill 729, Sutter Health Plan will embed coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and fertility services for all large group employers with new or renewing plans effective on or after July 1, 2025. This coverage will include a maximum of three completed oocyte retrievals and unlimited embryo transfers, in accordance with the guidelines of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
Cost-sharing for covered services will be the standard cost-sharing applicable to the type of service (e.g., office visit, outpatient lab, etc.).
Employers that have already received their renewal package or plans effective July through October 2025 were notified last month about upcoming changes in covered benefits for infertility and fertility services.
