With UnitedHealthcare’s Motion program, included in every ALL SAVERS plan, every enrolled employee and covered spouse can earn daily rewards for being active. Now it’s easier than ever for members to earn activity credits.
This unique program is gaining traction in the market. It promotes regular exercise by rewarding participants for meeting frequency, intensity, and tenacity (FIT) goals.
Members and their enrolled spouse can earn up to $1,095 in credits per year. These credits can be deposited into the member’s HSA account or be provided as a prepaid debit card.
Program requirements have been lowered as of 2021 to make it easier to earn credits.
Enhanced features of Motion include:
- Registration credit: A registration credit of $55 can be applied to purchased devices or taken as a reward if they use their own motion-compatible device.
- Participation credit: Members may earn $0.25 each day they log 2,500 steps or more, but do not achieve any FIT goals.
- Prepaid debit card: Health savings account (HSA) members (employee or spouse) can choose to receive incentives via an HSA deposit or a prepaid debit card during Motion registration. This is a change from an HSA deposit only.
- Earn Credits with FIT Goals (earned per day):
- Frequency (F)*: Members can earn $1 when meeting the goal of 300 steps in five minutes, six times per day.
- Intensity (I): Members can earn $1 when meeting additional physical activity goals besides walking. The intensity goal is met when the member hits 30 minutes of walking, biking, elliptical, or swimming.
- Tenacity (T): Members can earn $1 for walking 10,000 total daily steps.
These enhancements are designed to help drive member engagement and increase the program’s value and effectiveness.
