Canopy Health is expanding its network by adding three Hospitals and nearly 1,000 Physicians across the San Francisco Bay Area. Canopy Health added the Good Samaritan Health System as well as Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital and Dignity Health Medical Network to their growing alliance. With this expansion, Canopy Health's network now includes 18 Bay Area hospitals in eight counties. These new partnerships will increase Canopy Health's alliance to nearly 5,000 physicians. Canopy Health is a physician- and hospital-owned medical alliance that was incorporated in March 2015 as an affiliation between UCSF Health and John Muir Health. For those who are not familiar with Canopy Health, they provide a rich network with advanced access, coordinated care and cost transparency:
- Access: Through the Alliance Referral program, members have access to in-network services within the entire Canopy Health alliance of doctors and specialists, providing a full spectrum of care at numerous renowned hospitals and care centers across the Bay Area including UCSF Children’s Hospitals and Medical Centers, John Muir Medical Centers and Marin General Hospital, to name a few. The three IPA partners are Hill Physicians Medical Group, the John Muir Physician Network and the Meritage Medical Network.
- Coordinated Care: Canopy Health coordinates primary and specialty care to improve health outcomes and ensure transparency through data-sharing, streamlined communications and continuing care following procedures and treatment.
- Cost Transparency: A principal goal is to provide clear identification of out-of-pocket costs and transparency at every point in the continuum of care. Canopy Health is developing a cost estimator that members can use to see the total cost of care for procedures.
