The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules for the Health Coverage Tax Form 1095-B changed for tax year 2023. However, Florida Blue is still required to report its membership to the IRS and validate Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC). Accordingly, the 1095-B form will be available on the member website by January 31, 2024.
Since Florida Blue is required to obtain affirmative consent from members to view tax forms online, they have sent a postcard advising members how to access Form 1095-B directly from their Member Website. Postcards began mailing during the week of January 15-19, so many members may have already received their postcards.
Members who do not wish to provide consent for online delivery have the option to initiate an automated request to have the form mailed to have their form mailed to their address on file. Instructions for doing so appear on the postcards. Members can also send requests for emailed copies to 1095BReprint@floridablue.com.
If members ask for assistance with receipt of their 1095-B forms, you may refer them to the Member Service Team. This team has been furnished with screen shots they can use to walk members through the online process.
